I have to admit that I am obsessed. I can't seem to pull myself away from Pinterest, and now that they fixed their IPhone app, it has gotten worse. While I often pin ideas for Frankie, I find myself roaming for ideas for school. In doing so, I came across so many blogs by dedicated and creative teachers, and I realized that teacher websites are becoming a thing of the past.
So, I decided that I would take down my website hosted by TeacherWeb and enter the world of blogging (plus it's free!) Now onto finding some followers, so this doesn't turn into me rambling on and on for no one other than myself
If you happen to come across my blog, leave me a comment and show me some love:)

Stacy,
ReplyDeleteI'm making your day and leaving you some love! :)
Love your blog design. I could have used your expertise for the last 2 years when I taught 6th grade reading. :) Next year I will be teaching 5th and 6th grade American History and am so excited!!
Could you add an email subscription button so I can follow you that way?? :)
Thanks!
Shannon

Hi Shannon,
ReplyDeleteI'll add the subscribe button tonight. I followed your other blog and mentioned last year I was going to start blogging but never got
To it. I believe you used my "sundae" idea for reading strategies. With common core coming you will be incorporating tons of reading into History. Send some of your followers my way:) I'll be uploading some goodies tonight!
All over it. Waiting for 5th grade reading and writing ideas. :)

Do you mean the email subscription button? I just went to "design" then "layout" then "add a gadget" it was one of the pre-made options:)
DeleteIf you mean the button that says "grab my button" I have no clue- LOL! I used Dream Like Magic to Customize my blog!
Looking forward to great 5th grade ideas!!
ReplyDeleteI'm jealous that you are giving up your teacherweb page. I have kept my teacherweb site for my parents and families, but I admit I don't use it much during the year. I don't love paying for it every year, but there's so much information for parents, I just can't recreate it on my blog...
Hi Lynn,
DeleteI will definitely be posting some 5th grade ideas! Since I am no longer in the classroom and do not need to communicate as frequently with ten parents anymore it was easy to let my website go!
Stacy, what a cute blog and welcome to the blogging world! I'm your newest follower. I absolutely love to write and can't imagine not being able to. I kept my classroom website for a few reasons: 1) My district requires it. 2) It's a great resource for my parents and students. 3) I have a ton of teacher resources on it. 4) It was a lot of work! I totally agree with you that they're going by the wayside, though. If you get a chance I'd love for you to stop by my blog.

Pinterest completely eludes me, but if it encouraged you to start blogging, great! I love your blog design! Good luck.
